The finale to Season 8 of American Idol aired on May 27, 2010.

It was a special finale because it marked the last show for the most popular judge, Simon Cowell. All the former American Idol winners were there in tribute. Those who attended were Kelly Clarkson, Reuben Studdard, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook and Kris Allen. There were also many performances in honor of Simon's farewell. Those included Chicago, Michael McDonald, Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, Bret Michaels and Joe Cocker.

In the end, Lee DeWyze beat out Crystal Bowersox to become the 9th American Idol.

Ronnie James Dio is still hanging in there.

He has been battling stomach cancer, and did have to cancel his current tour with his band Heaven and Hell in order to receive treatment. His wife, Wendy Dio, reports that he is not doing good, but he is not dead.

Ronnie James Dio was a member of the band Black Sabbath before striking out on his own to forge a successful solo career and become one of the mainstays of heavy metal music.

He is still fighting the good fight and we should keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

This makes him the first player since Tiger Woods to win a PGA event before his 21st birthday. He played his last flive hole in 5 under, including a 5-ron to 3 feet for an eagle on the 15th hole, giving him the lead to the finish. This is the second victory of his career and his first in America.

Ozzfest 2010 is a music festival featuring the masters of metal. Headlining the show will be Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crue. Also featured will be Rob Halford of Judas Priest. Along with these metal veterans, the show will also spotlight the Black Label Society, Drowning Pool, Kingdom of Sorrow, Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch, Saviours and Kataklysm. Every date on the tour will have 13 bands playing on two different stages. There is also what will be called a “Village of the Damned”, which will have shopping and other entertainment. Of course, Ozzy Osbourne will be the highlight. His new album, Scream comes out on June 15.
